Crypto Live Casino: How Live Dealer Games Work With Bitcoin and Crypto Betting

Cryptocurrency is now a familiar payment option within the online gambling sector. However, some people are still unsure when it comes to how this works with live casino games. If you take a Bitcoin live blackjack table as an example, there is no need for crypto to move across the blockchain every time a new card is dealt. The crypto side and the live game itself are two separate parts of the system.

The casino itself deals with deposits, balances, and withdrawals, while live casino providers supply the actual games. This means that players can deposit with crypto, use their account balance to place wagers, and then watch a real live dealer conduct the game. The experience is almost the same whether you deposit with Bitcoin, another crypto, or more traditional payment methods.

How Crypto Live Casino Games Actually Work

Live dealer games are all about reproducing the important parts of a physical casino via an online interface. Rather than using computer animations, a real dealer or presenter leads the game from a purpose-built studio. Cameras are used to broadcast the action to players, and the software records bets and the end results.

The best game suppliers have state-of-the-art studios for this purpose. As an example, Evolution describes its live games as being broadcast from dedicated studios through multiple camera angles. Players use a computer or a mobile to connect, and they can then place bets and communicate through the live chat function.

Pragmatic Play uses a similar model, with professional dealers, multiple 4K cameras and an HTML5 interface forming part of its live casino operation. Its portfolio includes traditional roulette, blackjack and baccarat alongside newer variations and game show formats.

Crypto doesn’t really change any of this. Instead, the change is in how funds can enter your balance and how you can make withdrawals. There is no impact on how the cards are dealt or the way the wheel is spun.

From Bitcoin Deposit To Casino Balance

The process starts when a player chooses crypto as a deposit method and then selects one of the supported coins. The casino goes on and provides a deposit address. This can be shown as a QR code at times. The player then transfers their funds from a compatible crypto wallet.

When the transaction receives the blockchain confirmation, the casino then credits the player’s account. How the balance is displayed depends on the site you’re using. Some crypto casinos will keep balances in BTC. ETH, USDT, or other supported currencies. Others will convert your deposits into a fiat equivalent.

This matters as the value of crypto can change at pace. If a casino maintains the balance in Bitcoin, its value against pounds, dollars or euros can rise or fall while the funds remain in the account. A platform that converts the deposit immediately may work differently, making it important to understand the casino’s terms rather than assuming every crypto gambling site follows the same model.

Placing Crypto Bets At A Live Table

As soon as the funds are available, you join a live game in the same way that you would at any other online casino. The player clicks to open the dealer lobby and then chooses a table to play at. It’s then a case of placing a stake.

When someone uses Bitcoin to play at a live casino online, they aren’t broadcasting individual bets to the Bitcoin network. Instead, it’s the internal systems of the casino that keep track of balances and settled wagers. Blockchain activity tends to be limited to when deposits and withdrawals are made.

No matter what currency is used to wager, players need to pay attention to the table limits. Minimum and maximum wagers will vary between games and tables. This means that having a large crypto balance doesn’t automatically mean that every amount can be staked on a certain game.

What Happens Behind The Live Stream?

When you look at the technology that’s needed to run live casino gaming, there is much more to it than simply pointing a camera at the dealer. The table itself, video feed, and casino software all need to work together at a speed that allows large numbers of players to get involved with the website able to perform without issue.

In roulette, cameras show the dealer spinning a physical wheel and ball. The system records the winning number and settles the corresponding bets. With blackjack, physical cards are dealt while technology records their values and communicates the information to the digital interface. Baccarat works in a pretty similar way, with the cards and dealer remaining physical while the betting interface and account settlement operate digitally.

The software also controls the betting period. Players are given a limited amount of time to make their selections before betting closes, after which the dealer completes the round. The result is then processed, and winning balances are updated automatically.

This combination of physical equipment and digital processing is one reason live casinos differ significantly from conventional online slots. The game is happening in real time rather than being generated entirely within the player’s device.

Crypto Withdrawals After Live Casino Play

When a player finishes a session, any remaining balance can usually be withdrawn subject to the casino’s rules, verification requirements and any applicable restrictions. If cryptocurrency withdrawals are supported, the player needs to supply a wallet address and then select the amount to withdraw.

Accuracy is particularly important here. Cryptocurrency transactions generally can’t simply be reversed after funds have been sent to an incorrect address. Players also need to make sure they select the correct blockchain network where a currency operates across several networks.

Withdrawal speed shouldn’t be confused with blockchain transaction speed either. A cryptocurrency network might process a transaction relatively quickly, but the casino may first need to approve the withdrawal. Identity checks, security reviews or other account procedures can still affect the total time before funds reach a wallet.

Network fees are something else to think about. These vary between cryptocurrencies and can change according to network activity. Casinos may have their own withdrawal fees or minimum amounts as well. This means that the overall cost depends on both the blockchain being used and the individual platform.

Are Crypto Live Games Provably Fair?

Provably fair gaming is a term that you will come across when looking at crypto casinos. They are commonly associated with crypto native games and use cryptographic methods that allow players to check that an outcome hasn’t been altered after a wager is placed. Traditional live dealer games are different as their outcomes all come from physical equipment and real dealers.

As an example, a live roulette result comes from the actual wheel and ball that are shown on the stream. Live blackjack and baccarat use physical cards. This means that the integrity of these games is not about being provably fair: it is about the game provider, operating procedures, and regulatory oversight. The reliance isn’t on the same cryptographic process that is seen in some blockchain-based games.

This means that a crypto casino can offer both provably fair games and conventional live dealer games without the latter becoming provably fair simply because Bitcoin can be used to fund the account.

Why Stablecoins Are Also Used For Live Casino Betting

It’s fair to say that Bitcoin is the best-known crypto, but it certainly isn’t the only digital currency that can be used at crypto casinos. The likes of Ethereum, Litecoin, and stablecoins also appear as supported methods. This all depends on the operator of the site.

Stablecoins deal with the issue of volatility that users of crypto can experience. The value is designed to track another asset, such as the US dollar. This means that funds aren’t exposed to the same degree of price movement that can be seen with other cryptocurrencies.

That can make it easier to understand the actual monetary value of a wager. A Bitcoin stake can have a different fiat value later if BTC moves sharply, whereas a dollar-linked stablecoin is intended to remain close to its reference value.

Crypto Changes The Payment System, Not The Game

The easiest way to understand a crypto live casino is to separate the payment method from the casino itself. Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies provide another way of funding an account and potentially receiving withdrawals. The live dealer provider remains responsible for delivering the actual table.

Once a player sits down at a virtual blackjack, baccarat or roulette table, the familiar elements of live casino gaming remain the same. There is a real dealer, physical gaming equipment, a live video broadcast and software connecting the player’s wagers to events taking place in the studio.

This means that crypto sits around the live casino experience rather than replacing its underlying technology. Bitcoin may be used to move value into and out of the platform, but when the cards are dealt and the wheel begins to spin, the game itself remains a real-time casino table delivered through an online connection.
